Christmas in Denmark

From December the 1st to December the 24th we put up Christmas decorations in our houses, buy Christmas presents, write Christmas cards and lots of other preparations for Christmas.

On December the 24th it is Christmas Eve here in Denmark. We often go to church in the afternoon to celebrate that Jesus Christ was born, and that is why we celebrate Christmas. Then we have Christmas dinner. Most people here in Denmark eat roasted duck, turkey, goose or pork with sweet potaoes, brown sauce and red cabbage. For dessert we have a special rice pudding, and in the pudding there is an almond. The one who gets the almond, gets a small gift for having found the almond. After the dinner we dance around our Christmas tree, which is in our living room very nicely decorated with baubles, angles, candles and lots of other decorations. When we dance around the Christmas tree, we also sing Christmas Carols. Under the Christmas tree we put all the Christmas presents, and we open the presents, when we have finished dancing around the tree.

December the 25th is called 1st Christmas day and the 26th is called 2nd Christmas day. These two days we are often together with our family.

The 24th of December Christmas Eve

On the 24 th of December it is Christmas Eve here in Denmark. From the 1st to the 24 of December we put up Christmas decorations in our houses and we buy Christmas presents to our family. In our livingroom we have a Christmas tree which is decorated with angles, baubles, candles and lots of other decorations. On Christmas Eve we put all the christmas presents under the Christmas tree. When we have finished Christmas dinner we sing Christmas carols and dance around the Christmas tree. Then we open our Christmas presents.

December the 25th is called 1st Christmas day and the 26th second Christmas day. These 2 Christmas days we are often together with our family.

How are you all? We are fine but the weather here is very frosty now. Yesterday and today we are having 30 degrees below zero. Have you ever had such temperature?

How are you ? In my summer holiday I was in France with my mum and dad. We sailed the first five days and then we were at a hotel for six days. I was in Berlin, Sweden, at gymnastics camp and went on a camping trip with a friend and a lot of other things. A few weeks ago we had easter holiday. It has been very

In my family we have a tradition that we are finding eastereggs
in the garden and it’s very funny. We also have a tradition in whole Denmark
that we are cutting some letters. It’s a paper that you are cutting
in forms and patterns and write a small poem in it and then draw dots and the recipient has to guess who is sending the letter. If he or she doesn’t
guess it he or she has to give the writer an easter egg. And if he or she guesses it, the writer

My classes finish at three p.m. At home I often cook dinner in the kitchen and my sisters help me a lot. They always are at home at four. My father is at home at 7 o'clock and my mother is at home at 6 o'clock. We have dinner together. After dinner we watch television, read books. And at half past ten we go to bed.
