The Little Mermaid

Hello all friends from Russia, thank you for your letters.
I will write about The Little Mermaid. The Little Mermaid is a Statue in Copenhagen. The Little Mermaid is a very important Statue for Denmark. The Little Mermaid was on a little trip to China one year ago. H.C Andersen has written a story called The Little Mermaid. The statue is 125 cm high and weighs 175 kilo. It was set up in 1913 the 23rd of August.

The Egtved Girl

The Egtved Girl is one of the best known figures from the Danish history. She lived in the Bronze Age. She was buried in Egtved and lies now at the National Museum. They found her bones and her hair and her skin. She was 16-18 before she died. There was a 6-year-old child together with her in the grave. The hill was 22 meter in diameter and 4 meter in height. Egtved is only 16 kilometres from us.

Danish food

We have lot of typical Danish food for instance red sausages, open sandwiches, potatoes and brown sauce. There is also roast pork with parsley sauce and it tastes really good. Roast pork and duck eat we when it is Christmas time. We eat meatballs in curry.

Football/soccer

Football is a national sport in Denmark. Our Football league is called Super-league. We have one football team which is in Champions-League. The name of the football team is: FC Copenhagen. FC Copenhagen has beaten the Russian football team Robin Kazan in Champions-League. FC Copenhagen was equal to FC Barcelona in a 1-1 match. Besides being in the Champions League they are also Danish champions. FCK have some arch rivals and it is Broendby and Broendby is number 4 in our league. FcK is also called the white lions.

Towns in Denmark

Hey there it’s us your friends from Denmark!
We want to tell you about some of our towns and cities.
Copenhagen!
Copenhagen is the capital of Denmark. In Copenhagen there live 1,2 million people out of 5,1 million people in whole Denmark. Copenhagen is home place for a lot of big companies as A/P Moeller maersk and Carlsberg (beer). Two of the biggest attractions in Copenhagen are The Little Mermaid and the amusement park Tivoli.
Vejle!
We want to tell you about Vejle because it is a city very close to us. One of the big things in Vejle is the shopping center which is called Bryggen. On the pedestrian zone in Vejle there are many people because there are many shops in the side of the pedestrian zone. We have a stadium and the football team in Vejle and it is called Vejle ballclub ( VB ).

Prince Joakim and Princess Marie

Margrethe and Henrik have another son and his name is Joachim. His birthday is June 7th. Joachim has a wife and her name is Marie. She comes from France. Her birthday is February 5th. Joachim has been married to Alexandra. But they are divorced. Together they have two children. She´s not more part of the royal family. Nikolai is son of Prince Joachim and Alexandra. He´s 11 years old. Joachim and Alexandra´s other son is called Felix. He´s 8 years old. Joachim and Marie have alittle son and hiss name is Henrik. Hiss birthday is May 4th 2009.

Frederik is Margrethe and Henrik´s oldest son. Frederik is the heir to the throne. Hiss birthday is May 26th. Mary is Frederik´s wife. Mary comes from Australia. Her birthday is February 5th. Christian is Mary and Frederik´s son. Hiss birthday: October 15th. Isabella is Christian´s sister and her mother and father is Mary and Frederik. Her birthday is April 21st. Mary and Frederik have twins they have not got a name yet. They were born January 8th 2011.

Here are some information about the royal family in Denmark.
Margrethe II is the queen of Denmark. Her birthday is on April 16th. Her mother´s name is Queen Ingrid and her father´s name is Frederik the 9th. Henrik is Margrethe´s husband. His birthday is June 11th. Henrik comes from France.

The Jelling Stones

There are two special stones in Jelling. They are set up by Harald Blåtand, in English Harald Bluetooth, who was the first king in Denmark. There is a little stone and a bigger stone. The big stone was set up between 960 and 985. Harald Bluetooth set them up as a memory for his parents. On the big stone is written :
King Harold does these runes after his father, Gorm and after his mother Thyra, the Harold who won all Denmark and Norway and made the Danes Christians”
Beside the big stones side stands a smaller stone. That stone was set up about 955. On the little stone is written : King Gorm made this monument after Thyra his wife” . These stones are very important.
